Minneapolis Wedding Venues — A Photographer's Guide
Every Minneapolis wedding venue I've photographed — plus St. Paul, the St. Croix Valley, and the North Shore. For each one you'll find a photographer's-eye view of what to expect, the best portrait spots, and how to time your day around the light. Written by Emma Ziegler, a Minneapolis wedding photographer who has shot 200+ Twin Cities weddings since 2018.
How I picked these venues. I only include venues I've personally photographed a full wedding at. No referral fees, no sponsorships — just honest notes from the photographer's side of the aisle on what works (and what to watch for) at each space.
Who this is for. Couples picking their Minneapolis wedding venue and trying to imagine how the day will actually look in photos. If you're earlier in planning, start with the full Minneapolis wedding photography guide or browse the portfolio to see real galleries.

Ask about your venueWedding Venue FAQ
Have you photographed at my Twin Cities wedding venue?
I've shot at most major Minneapolis and St. Paul venues. If yours isn't on this list, ask — I likely have a gallery from there or I scout new venues at no extra cost.
Do you recommend specific venues for certain wedding styles?
Yes — I pair couples with the right venue all the time. Want industrial-modern? The Hutton House or Machine Shop. Historic luxury? The Saint Paul Hotel or Landmark Center. Skyline? Nicollet Island Pavilion or A'BULAE. Adventure elopement? The North Shore. Reach out and I'll help you find your fit.
Do venues require a Certificate of Insurance from the photographer?
Most Twin Cities wedding venues do. I carry full liability insurance and send a COI to your venue at no charge as soon as you book.
Can I see a full wedding gallery from my venue?
Yes — once you book a consultation I'll send you full galleries from your specific venue so you can see exactly what to expect.
