Booking starts with a short conversation about what the photos are for — an engagement announcement, an anniversary, or just proof the two of you existed as adults. From there I suggest a location and a start time based on the season and the light, not the other way around, and I send a prep guide covering outfits, timing, and what to expect.

On the day, the first fifteen minutes are always the stiffest, so I front-load the posed frames and save the walking-and-talking candids for after you've forgotten the camera is there. Sneak peeks land within 48 hours; the full gallery of 40+ edited images follows in 7–10 days.

Golden hour — the 90 minutes before sunset — is the default answer for Summit Avenue and the Mississippi bluffs along Shepard Road. Indian Mounds Park earns its slot at sunset too: the skyline view is the whole point, and it's strongest in low light.

Como Park Conservatory and the Cathedral flip the logic: both photograph best in late morning, and the Conservatory doesn't care what the weather is doing, which is why it carries most of my cold-month couples sessions. If the slot you're asking about fights the location you want, I'll say so — moving a session 90 minutes is often the difference between fine and great.

The two-hour session covers up to two locations, and St. Paul rewards smart pairs. Summit Avenue's mansion blocks and the Cathedral of St. Paul are a natural set. Downtown, Mears Park's Lowertown brick pairs with Rice Park — directly across the street from Landmark Center — for two completely different textures in one outing.

For a river session, Harriet Island and Crosby Farm Regional Park are the pairing — the same stretch of Mississippi, and a very different feel from the mansion blocks. One-hour sessions stay at a single location, and honestly: one good location beats two rushed ones every time.

No mystery pricing: $450 covers one hour at one location, and $650 covers two hours with up to two locations and outfit changes. Both include 40+ edited images. There's no travel fee anywhere in the Twin Cities metro — St. Paul sits fifteen minutes from Minneapolis, and the city line doesn't change your invoice. Same if you'd rather start in Roseville, Maplewood, or West St. Paul and finish downtown.
