How much does a couples or engagement session cost in Minneapolis?
Couples and engagement sessions start at $450 for a 1-hour shoot. The session includes location guidance, wardrobe consultation, all professionally edited images, and a private online gallery with high-resolution downloads.
What's included in a couples/engagement session?
Every session includes 45–60 minutes of shooting, wardrobe guidance, a private online gallery with 40–60 edited images, and print-ready high-resolution downloads. Engagement sessions booked with a wedding package include a complimentary planning call.
How long until we get our engagement photos back?
You'll receive your fully edited gallery within 2–3 weeks of the session. A few favorite sneak peeks usually go out within the first week — perfect for save-the-dates.
When is the best time for engagement photos in Minneapolis?
Golden hour — about an hour before sunset — gives the warmest, most flattering light. Fall is incredibly popular for the stunning foliage, but spring blossoms and summer greenery are equally gorgeous.
How many outfits should we bring?
Two outfits is the sweet spot for a 1-hour session — one casual and one slightly dressed up. I'll send a detailed style guide after booking with color palettes and pairing tips.
Can we bring our dog to the session?
Absolutely! Pets are part of the love story. I recommend having someone who can help wrangle them for a few shots so you can also have photos of just the two of you.
What should we wear?
I recommend coordinating but not matching. Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully, and I'll send a detailed style guide after booking to help you plan outfits.
We're awkward in front of the camera — will the photos look stiff?
Not at all! I guide you through every prompt with simple movement-based directions, so the moments feel real instead of posed. Most clients are surprised at how relaxed and natural they feel after the first 10 minutes.
Where do you shoot couples sessions?
Anywhere in the Twin Cities! Popular spots include Stone Arch Bridge, Lake Harriet, Boom Island, Minnehaha Falls, and Summit Avenue. I'm also happy to shoot at a location that's meaningful to you.
Do you offer anniversary sessions?
Yes! Anniversary sessions are a beautiful way to celebrate a milestone year. Sapphire wedding clients receive a complimentary 1-year anniversary session as part of their package.
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ couples?
Yes — I love photographing every kind of love story and have shot many LGBTQ+ engagements and couples sessions across Minneapolis and the Twin Cities. You'll always be welcomed and celebrated.
Can we do an indoor or in-home couples session?
Absolutely — in-home and cozy indoor sessions are some of my favorites. They're perfect for Minnesota winters, intimate moments, and capturing your real space together.
What is the best Minneapolis location for engagement photos?
It depends on your vibe: Stone Arch Bridge and the Mill District for skyline/urban, Lake Harriet Bandshell or Como Park for classic park, Minnehaha Falls for waterfalls, and the North Shore for adventure. I'll send a location guide with my favorite Twin Cities spots after booking.
How early should we book an engagement session?
Book 6–10 weeks ahead to lock in golden hour on a weekend, especially during peak fall foliage (late September–mid October) when Minneapolis spots fill up fast.
Do you offer same-sex wedding photography too?
Yes — many of my couples session clients also book their wedding with me. Engagement sessions are included in my Pearl and Sapphire wedding collections.
Will our engagement photos be edited and color-corrected?
Every single image in your gallery is hand-edited in my warm, true-to-life style — no AI presets, no over-filtered looks. Color is corrected, skin is gently retouched, and the gallery feels cohesive.

The Twin Cities offer incredible backdrops for couples photos. Stone Arch Bridge, Lake Harriet, Minnehaha Falls, Boom Island, and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden are perennial favorites. For St. Paul, Como Park and Summit Avenue offer timeless elegance.
