Photography Pricing & Packages — FAQ

How much does a Minneapolis photographer cost?

Twin Cities portrait sessions with Honey Deww start at $250 for a 30-minute mini, $450 for a full hour, and $600 for boudoir. Wedding collections range from $2,700 (Emerald, 4 hours) to $4,600 (Sapphire, 12 hours, two photographers, highlight film).

Do you offer custom photography packages?

Yes — every couple and client is different. If none of my listed Minneapolis packages fit, I'll build a custom package around your timeline, locations, and budget. Just reach out.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards, ACH bank transfer, Venmo, and check. A 25% retainer secures your date and the balance can be split into monthly payments through your client portal.

Do you offer photography gift cards?

Yes — Honey Deww gift cards are available in any amount and never expire. They're a popular gift for engagements, milestone birthdays, maternity, and holidays.

Is travel included in your photography pricing?

Travel within 40 miles of downtown Minneapolis is included on every package. Beyond that, travel is billed at cost (mileage, lodging if needed) with no markup.

Can I add prints, albums, or a wedding film?

Yes — heirloom albums start at $450 (portraits) and $650 (weddings), fine-art prints are available through your gallery, and wedding highlight films can be added to any wedding collection.

Do you offer rush-edit or sneak-peek add-ons?

Sneak peeks within 48 hours are included on every package. Rush full-gallery delivery (under 2 weeks for portraits, under 3 weeks for weddings) is available as a $250 add-on.

What is your cancellation and reschedule policy?

Retainers are non-refundable but transfer to a new date within 12 months for weather, illness, or venue changes. Full policy details are in your contract.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Minneapolis vs. St. Paul?

Pricing is nearly identical across the Twin Cities. Most Minneapolis and St. Paul wedding photographers charge $3,000–$7,000 for full-day coverage. My Emerald wedding package starts at $2,700 for 4 hours, Pearl is $3,900 for 8 hours, Ruby is $4,200 for 10 hours, and Sapphire is $4,600 for 12 hours with two photographers and a highlight film — all with no travel fee within 40 miles of downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Do you offer the same pricing for Twin Cities and Minnesota weddings?

Yes — my published Minneapolis wedding packages apply to the entire Twin Cities metro, including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Woodbury, and Stillwater. For weddings outside the 40-mile free-travel radius in greater Minnesota, travel is billed at cost with no markup, so the package price stays the same and only the travel add-on changes.

Are there travel fees for Wisconsin weddings?

Many western Wisconsin venues — including Hudson, Ellsworth, and the St. Croix River Valley — fall within my 40-mile free-travel radius of downtown Minneapolis. For venues farther into Wisconsin, travel is billed at cost (mileage and lodging if needed) with no markup, keeping your photography pricing fair and transparent.

What is the most popular wedding photography package in the Twin Cities?

My Pearl package is the most popular for Twin Cities weddings: 8 hours of coverage, two photographers, a 1-hour engagement session, timeline assistance, and a private online gallery for $3,900. It covers getting ready through the reception for most Minneapolis and St. Paul weddings.

Do Minneapolis and St. Paul venues have different photography package needs?

Sometimes. Downtown Minneapolis venues like Mill City Museum or the Hewing Hotel may need shorter travel buffers between hotel and venue, while St. Paul venues like the Landmark Center or James J. Hill Center often have dramatic indoor architecture that benefits from a second photographer. I tailor coverage hours and team size to your specific venue and timeline.

How does Minnesota sales tax affect photography pricing?

For Minnesota weddings and portrait sessions, I collect and remit applicable state and local sales tax on taxable tangible goods such as albums, prints, and physical products. Digital galleries and photography services are generally not subject to Minnesota sales tax. Your final invoice breaks this out clearly.

Can I book a custom package for a North Shore or Wisconsin destination wedding?

Absolutely. Custom packages are built for North Shore elopements, cabin weddings in Brainerd or Nisswa, and Wisconsin destination weddings. You choose the coverage hours and team size, and I add a flat travel add-on that covers mileage, lodging, and scouting — no markup on flights or hotel stays.

What payment plan options do you offer for Minneapolis wedding clients?

Every Minneapolis and Twin Cities wedding package can be split into monthly payments. A 25% retainer reserves your date, and the remaining balance is divided into interest-free monthly payments through your client portal, with the final payment due two weeks before the wedding.

How far in advance should I book my wedding photographer?

I recommend booking 8–12 months in advance for weddings, especially for peak season (June–October). For portrait sessions, 2–4 weeks is usually sufficient.

Do you travel outside of Minneapolis for photography sessions?

Absolutely! I regularly travel throughout the Twin Cities metro, greater Minnesota, and western Wisconsin. Destination weddings and elopements are welcome — travel fees may apply for locations beyond 50 miles from Minneapolis.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Galleries are typically delivered within 3–8 weeks depending on the session type. You'll receive a private online gallery with high-resolution, fully edited images.

Can I customize a photography package?

Yes! The packages listed are starting points. I love creating custom packages tailored to your specific needs, timeline, and budget. Just reach out and we'll design something perfect for you.

What should I wear to my photo session?

I provide a detailed style guide after booking! Generally, I recommend coordinating (not matching) outfits in solid colors or subtle patterns. Avoid large logos and neon colors. Earth tones and jewel tones photograph beautifully.

Do you offer payment plans for wedding photography?

Yes! I offer flexible payment plans for all wedding and elopement packages. A retainer is required to secure your date, and the remaining balance can be split into monthly payments leading up to your wedding day.

What happens if it rains on my session day?

Rain happens — and it can actually make for stunning photos! But if you'd prefer to reschedule, I offer one free reschedule for weather-related issues. We'll find a new date that works for both of us.

Are the photos edited? Do I get unedited images?

Every image in your gallery is professionally edited for color, exposure, and tone to match my signature warm and natural style. I do not provide unedited/RAW files, as the editing is an essential part of the final product.
