Destination Wedding & Elopement Photographer

The process is the same as booking me for a Minneapolis wedding, with one extra step: a travel quote. Tell me your date and location and I'll send exact numbers within 24 hours — a flat add-on covering flights, ground transport, and lodging, with no markup on any of it. You see what the trip actually costs, and that's what you pay.

The collections themselves don't change when you leave Minnesota. Emerald is four hours of coverage at $3,100, Pearl is eight hours with a second photographer at $4,200, and Sapphire is a full twelve-hour day at $5,300. Elopement coverage starts at $650. Travel is the only variable, and it's quoted in writing before you sign anything.

There's no minimum collection required to book travel. If you're eloping with just the two of you and an officiant, I'll get on the plane for that.

For most weddings in the continental US, travel adds $400–$1,500 on top of your collection, depending on flight prices and how many nights the trip needs. International weddings are quoted per trip based on flights, days on the ground, and any visa or equipment-carnet requirements — a UK quote and an Italy quote look different because the trips are different lengths, not because anything is padded.

The flip side: there's no travel fee anywhere in the Twin Cities metro. Travel pricing only exists once we leave it.

I don't shoot a destination cold. For domestic weddings I fly in the day before, walk your ceremony and portrait spots in person, and watch how the light actually moves at your venue. For international weddings I arrive two days early — partly for scouting, partly to beat the jet lag before the day that matters. You're never paying me to figure things out on the day-of.

Every destination has its own light problem to solve. Texas and Arizona summers mean pre-sunrise first looks and golden-hour portraits, because midday is unusable. Florida summers mean sunrise sessions — afternoons bring thunderstorms. Colorado means planning the hike timeline so you're not gassed at altitude before your first look. That's exactly the kind of thing the day-before scout is for.

Most domestic destination weddings are two-night trips: fly in the day before, shoot, fly home the next morning. California is often three days, the UK four to six, and Italy six to seven. The quote reflects the actual trip, nothing more.

Delivery doesn't slow down because I traveled. Sneak peeks arrive within 48 hours no matter where the wedding was, full wedding galleries in four to six weeks, and portrait session galleries in two to four.

I carry $2M of liability insurance valid nationwide in the US, and your venue gets a Certificate of Insurance at no charge. For international weddings I file equipment carnets and travel with backup gear in a separate bag — a lost checked bag shouldn't become your problem.
