Traveling from Minneapolis

United Kingdom Wedding & Elopement Photographer

United Kingdom

I'm one of a small handful of Minneapolis-based photographers who actively books destination weddings in the United Kingdom. From castle weddings in the Scottish Highlands to elopements in the Cotswolds to multi-day celebrations in London townhouses, I love the storytelling that comes with a UK wedding — the longer days, the dramatic skies, the architecture that does half the work for you. For international weddings I plan a 4–6 day trip: arrival, scouting, your event, and a buffer day for weather. Travel is quoted flat with no markups, and I handle equipment carnets, ATA documentation, and any venue insurance the UK requires.

Where I shoot in the UK

  • Scottish Highlands (Glencoe, Isle of Skye, Edinburgh)
  • The Cotswolds & countryside estates
  • London townhouse & rooftop weddings
  • Lake District elopements
  • Welsh coast (Anglesey, Pembrokeshire)

Travel notes

  • Plan 4–6 days on the ground — I arrive 2 days early to fight jet lag and scout.
  • I file equipment carnets and travel with backup gear in a separate bag.
  • UK venues often want a UK-valid COI; I work with my insurer to extend coverage in advance.

Couples find me searching for UK destination wedding photographer, Scotland elopement photographer, London wedding photographer, Cotswolds wedding photographer, American wedding photographer in the UK. If any of that sounds like your wedding, let's talk.

United Kingdom Photography FAQ

Do you travel to the UK for weddings and elopements?

Yes — I travel to the UK regularly for weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions. I'm based in Minneapolis but more than half of my year is spent on the road. Travel fees are flat and transparent, with no markup on flights or lodging.

How much extra does it cost to bring you to the UK?

Travel is quoted as a flat add-on covering flights, ground transport, and 1–2 nights of lodging depending on your timeline. For most the UK weddings it's a few hundred to ~$1,500 on top of your collection — and I never mark up travel costs.

Do you scout the UK locations before the shoot?

Always. I arrive a day early, scout your ceremony and portrait spots in person, watch how light moves at your venue, and build a shot list around your actual location. You're never paying me to figure things out on the day-of.

Can you legally photograph weddings in the UK?

Yes. I carry $2M of liability insurance valid nationwide in the US, and for international weddings I file the appropriate travel documentation and equipment carnets where required. Your venue gets a Certificate of Insurance at no charge.
