Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Minneapolis Photography Sessions

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking 2–4 months in advance for portrait and couples sessions, and 6–12 months for weddings. That said, I always try to accommodate last-minute requests when possible!

What should we wear?

I'll send you a detailed style guide after booking! In general, I recommend coordinating (not matching) colors, avoiding large logos, and choosing outfits that make you feel confident. Neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully in natural light.

How long until we receive our photos?

Galleries are typically delivered within 3–8 weeks depending on the session type. You'll receive a private online gallery with high-resolution, edited images.

Do you travel for sessions?

Absolutely! I serve the entire Twin Cities metro and all of Minnesota. I'm also available for destination weddings and sessions — travel fees may apply for locations beyond 40 miles.

What happens if it rains?

Don't worry — we'll work it out! We can reschedule to another date or embrace the moody weather (some of my favorite photos have been taken on overcast days). I'm flexible and will always communicate with you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I offer flexible payment plans for wedding packages. A deposit is required to secure your date, and the remaining balance can be split into payments leading up to your session or event.

Are you currently booking weddings for 2026?

Yes — I'm actively booking 2026 Twin Cities weddings now, with limited 2025 dates still open. Prime May–October Saturdays fill 9–12 months out, so reach out as early as you can to lock in your date.

How quickly do you respond to inquiries?

I reply to every inquiry within 24 hours on weekdays (and usually much sooner). If you haven't heard back, check your spam folder for emails from emma@honeydewwphotography.com.

Where is your studio located?

My private studio serves the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro and I travel throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The exact address is shared after booking to keep client sessions private.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! Photography gift cards are available in any amount and make incredible gifts for engagements, milestone birthdays, maternity, and anniversaries. Email me to purchase.

Can I see a full gallery before booking?

Of course — I'd love to share a full wedding or portrait gallery so you can see the consistency of my work, not just the highlights. Just ask in your inquiry and I'll send one over.

How do I officially book my session or wedding?

After our consultation I'll send a custom proposal, contract, and online invoice. A 25% retainer + signed contract secures your date — the whole process takes about 10 minutes.

Do you offer Spanish-speaking sessions?

¡Sí! I work with Spanish-speaking couples and families across the Twin Cities. Contracts, planning calls, and on-the-day communication can all be in Spanish or English.

Are deposits refundable?

The 25% retainer is non-refundable, but it transfers to a new date within 12 months if you need to reschedule for weather, illness, or venue changes — so you're never out the money.
