I specialize in weddings, couples portraits, boudoir, and newborn sessions, and I've been doing this for over a decade. My Photography Style & Approach
I picked up my first camera over a decade ago and never looked back. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a calling — I realized I wasn't just taking pictures, I was preserving feelings. The nervous excitement before a first look. The way a toddler reaches for mom's hand. The belly laugh when the best man fumbles the rings.
My style leans heavily into documentary storytelling with just enough direction to make everyone look their best. I blend candid, photojournalistic moments with timeless, editorial portraits — all shot in natural light whenever possible.

I'm based in Minneapolis and regularly shoot throughout St. Paul, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Woodbury, White Bear Lake, Maple Grove, and Ellsworth, WI. Favorite locations include Lake Harriet, Minnehaha Falls, Como Park, the Minneapolis Event Centers, and dozens of beautiful outdoor spots across the Twin Cities metro.
Destination weddings and elopements are always welcome — from the North Shore cliffs to out-of-state adventures, I love going wherever your story takes us.

I'm Emma Ziegler, the solo photographer and owner of Honey Deww Photography. I've been shooting weddings, portraits, boudoir, and newborns across Minneapolis and the Twin Cities since 2018.
What inspired you to become a Twin Cities photographer?
I fell in love with photography documenting my own family and friends in Minneapolis — I wanted to give other people that same feeling of looking back at real, beautiful moments of their lives.
What makes your photography different?
I shoot in a warm, editorial-documentary style with true-to-life color — no trendy presets, no AI filters. Every image is hand-edited, and I treat every couple, family, and client like a real friend, not a transaction.
Are you a full-time photographer?
Yes — Honey Deww Photography is my full-time business. That means I'm available for planning calls, quick responses, and the level of care a once-in-a-lifetime event deserves.
What areas do you serve from your Minneapolis studio?
I serve all of Minneapolis, St. Paul, the entire Twin Cities metro, and travel throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Destination weddings are also welcome.
Do you work with a team or assistants?
I'm a solo photographer for portraits, boudoir, maternity, and newborn sessions. For full-day weddings I bring a second photographer and an assistant when the package includes them.
Are you insured?
Yes — Honey Deww Photography carries full liability and equipment insurance, which most Minneapolis and Twin Cities wedding venues require. I'm happy to send a COI to your venue.
What gear do you shoot with?
I shoot on professional Sony mirrorless bodies with prime lenses for portraits and fast zooms for weddings, plus redundant card slots, off-camera flash, and backup bodies on every wedding day.

Do you shoot both Minneapolis and St. Paul weddings?
Yes — I photograph weddings in both cities regularly. From downtown Minneapolis venues and the Minneapolis Event Centers to St. Paul's historic Landmark Center and Como Park, I know the layouts, lighting, and best portrait spots on both sides of the Mississippi.
How far from the Twin Cities do you travel for sessions?
I include free travel within 40 miles of downtown Minneapolis, which covers the entire core Twin Cities metro and parts of western Wisconsin. Beyond that, I travel across Minnesota — including the North Shore, Duluth, Brainerd, and Rochester — and to destinations worldwide, with travel quoted as a flat add-on.
What is your favorite season to photograph in Minnesota?
Each season has its charm. I love golden summer evenings at Lake Harriet and Minnehaha Falls, the rich maples of a St. Paul fall wedding, snowy engagement sessions along the Stone Arch Bridge, and the soft light of a rainy Minnesota spring. The best season is the one that fits your story.
Have you photographed weddings in Wisconsin?
Yes — I've shot weddings and engagement sessions in western Wisconsin, including Hudson, Ellsworth, and the St. Croix River Valley. Many Wisconsin venues near the Minnesota border fall within my 40-mile free-travel radius, so couples there get the same Twin Cities service without extra travel fees.

Knowing the Twin Cities means I can anticipate the exact time the sun drops behind the Minneapolis skyline, where to find shade at a hot Como Park wedding, and which St. Paul parking ramps are closest to your venue. Absolutely. I've photographed at dozens of Twin Cities venues — including the Mill City Museum, Hewing Hotel, Aria, Nicollet Island Pavilion, Landmark Center, James J. Hill Center, and the Minneapolis Event Centers — so I arrive already knowing the best photo spots, lighting challenges, and vendor logistics.

Absolutely — I offer free 20-minute discovery calls (Zoom, phone, or in-person coffee in Minneapolis) before every wedding booking. It's the best way to make sure our personalities click before you commit.
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
Yes — I'm proudly LGBTQ+ affirming and have photographed many same-sex weddings, elopements, and engagements across the Twin Cities. Every couple is welcome, valued, and photographed with the same warmth and care.
