Wedding Photography FAQ
How much does a Minneapolis wedding photographer cost?
My wedding photography packages start at $2,500 for the Emerald (4-hour coverage), $3,500 for the Pearl (8-hour coverage with engagement session), and $4,000 for the Sapphire (12-hour coverage with two photographers, anniversary session, and highlight video). Custom packages are also available.
How far in advance should I book my wedding photographer?
I recommend booking 8–12 months in advance, especially for popular dates between May and October. However, feel free to reach out for last-minute availability — I occasionally have openings!
Do you travel for weddings outside of Minneapolis?
Absolutely! I regularly photograph weddings throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, and I'm available for destination weddings worldwide. Travel fees may apply for locations beyond 60 miles from the Twin Cities.
How long until we receive our wedding photos?
You'll receive a curated sneak peek within 1–2 weeks after your wedding day. Your full gallery of professionally edited images is delivered within 6–8 weeks.
How many photos will we get from our wedding?
Photo count depends on your package and coverage hours — generally 75–100 edited images per hour of coverage. An 8-hour Pearl wedding typically delivers 600+ professionally edited photos in your private online gallery.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes, a 25% non-refundable retainer holds your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding day. Payment plans can be arranged if needed.
Can we customize our wedding photography package?
Yes! Every couple's needs are different. I'm happy to create a custom package that fits your timeline, budget, and vision. Just reach out and we'll build something perfect together.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes — engagement sessions are included in the Pearl and Sapphire packages. They're a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day and make great save-the-date photos!
Do you provide a second photographer?
A second shooter is included in the Sapphire package and can be added to any other package as an upgrade. A second photographer captures additional angles, candid guest reactions, and details you might otherwise miss.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Rain or shine, I've got you covered! Some of my most beautiful images have been captured on rainy days. I always have a backup plan and know how to work with any weather to create stunning photos.
What is your wedding photography style?
My style is editorial-documentary with warm, true-to-life color. I balance candid documentary moments with intentional editorial portraits, and I edit every image by hand in a timeless tone — no heavy presets, no trendy filters.
Do you photograph elopements and micro-weddings around the Twin Cities?
Yes — I shoot Hennepin County courthouse ceremonies, backyard micro-weddings in St. Paul and Minneapolis, and adventure elopements up the North Shore and Boundary Waters. Elopement coverage starts at $2,500 with travel within Minnesota included.
Have you photographed at my Minneapolis wedding venue?
I've shot at most major Twin Cities venues — including The Hutton House, Nicollet Island Pavilion, Aria, A'BULAE, The Machine Shop, Riverside Ballroom, and many private estates and barns across Minnesota. If your venue is new to me, I scout it ahead of time at no extra cost.
What is your LGBTQ+ wedding photography experience?
I love and celebrate every couple. I've photographed many LGBTQ+ weddings across Minneapolis and the Twin Cities and intentionally use inclusive language in contracts, planning calls, and posing — so you can show up exactly as you are.
Do you provide raw or unedited wedding photos?
I don't deliver raw files — every image in your gallery is hand-edited in my signature warm, true-to-life style so the final collection feels cohesive and timeless. You receive full high-resolution JPEGs with a print release.
Are albums and prints available?
Yes — I offer heirloom flush-mount wedding albums starting at $650, fine-art prints, framed wall art, and parent albums. Your gallery includes a built-in print shop with archival lab pricing.
Will you help with our wedding day timeline?
Absolutely. About 6 weeks before your wedding I send a photography timeline questionnaire and we hop on a planning call to map out getting-ready, first look, portraits, ceremony, and golden hour — so your day flows and we never feel rushed.
How much should I budget for a wedding photographer in Minneapolis in 2026?
Plan $2,500–$5,000 for solid mid-tier Minneapolis wedding photography in 2026, $5,000–$8,000 for premium photographers with second shooters and albums, and under $2,000 only if you accept real risk on quality, backups, or insurance. Most Twin Cities couples spend 10–15% of their total wedding budget on photography.
How many hours of wedding photography coverage do I need?
4 hours covers a short ceremony + cocktail hour (Emerald). 8 hours covers getting-ready through first dances (Pearl — most common). 12 hours covers a full day including sparkler send-off (Sapphire). The bigger the wedding party and the more locations, the more hours you need.
What's included in a Minneapolis wedding photography package?
Every Honey Deww package includes the contracted hours of coverage, professional editing, a private high-resolution online gallery, print release for personal use, timeline planning, and a 25%-retainer booking. Engagement sessions, second photographers, anniversary sessions, and highlight videos scale up by package.
Do wedding photographers in Minneapolis charge for travel?
I include travel within 60 miles of the Twin Cities at no charge. Beyond that — Duluth, North Shore, Brainerd lakes, destination — a flat mileage and lodging line is added to the contract upfront with no surprises.
