Edina Wedding Venues: Clubs, Parks and Gardens

Edina is unusual because the city itself publishes its wedding rates. Centennial Lakes Park, the park shelter buildings and Braemar Golf Course are all city-run, and between them they cover ceremonies of 12 people and receptions of 200. The private clubs and the Westin fill in everything above that.

Everything below comes from the venue's or the city's own website as it reads in September 2026, and each figure links to where I found it. I have also flagged two venues that regularly get attributed to Edina and are not in Edina at all, because that mistake costs couples a tour day.

What does the city charge at Centennial Lakes Park?

Hughes Pavilion at Centennial Lakes is the city's flagship wedding space, and Edina publishes the full rate card on its rentals page. The Parlor Room seats 72 and the Fireside Room seats 40; on Friday and Saturday the rooms open up into the full pavilion for 120 guests.

• Parlor or Fireside Room: $450 Monday to Thursday finishing by 8 p.m., $550 finishing by 10 p.m., $650 on Sunday, each up to four hours, per the city rate card.
• Full Hughes Pavilion: $650 Monday to Thursday by 8 p.m., $1,750 Friday and Saturday by 8 p.m., $2,025 Friday and Saturday by 10 p.m., and $950 on Sunday, per the same city rate card.
• The outdoor amphitheatre: $450 per three-hour block, again from the city rate card.

Photographically, the pavilion's selling point is also its constraint. It sits on the water with floor-to-ceiling glass, so late-afternoon light is generous and completely directional — beautiful for portraits near the windows, harsh for a ceremony facing the wrong way. Ask which way the aisle will point and at what hour, then decide.

Are Edina's country clubs members only?

This is the assumption worth testing rather than accepting. Read each club's own events page and note exactly what it does and does not say.

Edina Country Club at 5100 Wooddale Avenue publishes a full room list and capacities: the entire Inverness Ballroom holds 325, Inverness South 120, Inverness North A 90 and North B 60, with smaller rooms from 12 to 50, and it describes receptions of up to 275 guests moving from a cocktail hour in the Living Room into the ballroom. What the page does not publish is any membership or sponsorship requirement — so ask that question first when you enquire, rather than assuming either answer.

Interlachen Country Club at 6200 Interlachen Boulevard keeps a Weddings and Events page that invites enquiries and points to a catering and events guide. It confirms the club hosts weddings; it does not publish capacities, rates or whether non-members may book. Treat the enquiry form as the only reliable way to find out.

Braemar, the Westin and Pinstripes

Three larger options, all confirmed on their own sites.

Braemar Golf Course at 6364 John Harris Drive is city-owned and public. Its Valliere Ballroom holds up to 200, with high ceilings and large windows over the championship course. Catering is exclusive to Lancer Catering, and all alcohol is handled by Red River Kitchen, which is the kind of rule that decides a budget more quickly than the room fee does.

The Westin Edina Galleria at 3201 Galleria publishes 9,021 square feet of event space across six event rooms and nine breakout rooms. The George W. Baird Ballroom is 5,100 square feet and holds up to 420 for a reception or 350 for a banquet, and the hotel lists three tiered wedding packages from $89 to $149 per person covering appetisers, dinner, open bar, linens and a complimentary suite. It is under ten miles from MSP, which matters if guests are flying in.

Pinstripes Edina, beside Centennial Lakes Park, publishes 40,000 square feet and groups from 15 to 1,500, with customisable ballrooms, bowling lanes, bocce courts and a patio with a fireplace, and lists weddings, ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners among the events it hosts.

Edina's park buildings and picnic shelters

For a small ceremony, the city's shelter buildings are the best-value option in the south-west metro, and Edina publishes every rate on its park building rental page. All of them are enclosed, heated and air-conditioned, with restrooms and power.

• Arden, Cornelia School, Countryside, Pamela, Todd, Walnut Ridge and Weber shelter buildings: $93 half-day or $133 full-day, capacities from 50 to 77, per the city page.
• Arneson Acres, capacity 56, is the prettiest of them and the most expensive at $305 half-day or $415 full-day — and the city page restricts it to residents.
• Rosland Park's picnic shelter holds 150 at $93 half-day or $178 full-day; the small shelters at Chowen, Sherwood, Utley and Wooddale hold 12 each at $40 half-day or $59 full-day, per the city page.

Two booking rules matter. The 2026 season runs 2 May to 25 October, and reservations must be made at least seven days before the event, online only. Two venues that are not in Edina

Westwood Hills Nature Center is the one I correct most often. It is a genuinely lovely building and it is in St. Louis Park, not Edina — the city publishes its address as 8300 West Franklin Avenue, St. Louis Park, on the St. Louis Park city site, which also lists interpretive centre rentals. If that is the building you want, plan a St. Louis Park wedding rather than an Edina one.

The same trap catches Golden Valley Country Club, which is in Golden Valley, and Hyland Hills Chalet, which sits in Bloomington — I covered it in our Bloomington wedding venue guide. Before you book a tour, check the street address on the venue's own contact page. City names in directory listings are frequently wrong, and the city decides which parks rules, permits and shuttle distances apply to you.

How do we get a marriage licence in Hennepin County?

Edina is in Hennepin County. The county marriage licence page lists the fee as $125, or $50 if you have completed 12 hours of premarital education, and says the licence is valid for six months. There are three ways to apply, including entering your information online before your visit and a remote option by mail, and you will need identification such as a driver's licence, state ID or birth certificate.

The discount is statutory rather than a county policy. Minnesota Statutes section 517.08 sets the licence fee at $125 and the reduced fee at $50 for couples completing at least 12 hours of premarital education that includes a premarital inventory and teaching of communication and conflict-management skills.

What to settle before you sign

Four questions decide how an Edina wedding photographs, and all four are answerable before you book.

• Which direction does the ceremony face, and at what time? This decides whether anyone is squinting.
• Where does the ceremony move in rain, and who makes the call? Ask for the cut-off time in writing.
• Who supplies catering and alcohol? Braemar's exclusives are published; most clubs' are not.
• How long do you have the room? Edina's city rentals are sold in four-hour and half-day blocks, which is tighter than a typical ballroom evening.

Can a non-resident rent an Edina park shelter?

Yes for most of them, but not all. Edina's park building page marks Arneson Acres as residents only, while the other shelter buildings and picnic shelters carry a single published rate. Book at least seven days ahead, online, within the 2 May to 25 October 2026 season. Fred Richards Park is closed to reservations for 2026.

Is Westwood Hills Nature Center in Edina?

No. St. Louis Park publishes its address as 8300 West Franklin Avenue, St. Louis Park. It gets listed under Edina constantly because it sits near the border and serves a similar crowd. The distinction is not pedantic: it changes which city's rental rules and fees apply, and which photographer service area you should be searching.

Do Edina country clubs let non-members hold weddings?

It depends on the club, and neither Edina Country Club nor Interlachen publishes an answer on its events pages. Both clubs do publish that they host weddings and both invite enquiries. Ask the question in your first email, along with whether a member must sponsor the booking, so you are not building a shortlist around a venue you cannot book.

Which Edina venue works for a wedding of about 40 guests?

The Fireside Room at Hughes Pavilion seats 40 exactly, and several city shelter buildings hold 50 to 77 for a fraction of the price. For a ceremony only, Arneson Acres is the most attractive of the shelter buildings, though the city restricts it to residents. Above about 120 guests you move into Braemar, the clubs or the Westin.
