The Second Street historic district is a full block of intact 1800s brick storefronts. It is my first stop for wedding party portraits because the light bounces down the street corridor in the late afternoon and the architecture does all the work. Riverfront and levee park

Levee Park runs right along the Mississippi with the old spiral bridge site and the current highway bridge in the frame. Sunset here in September is the reason I recommend Hastings to couples who want water in their gallery without driving to the North Shore.

Alexis Bailly Vineyard just outside town is Minnesota's oldest winery, with rows that photograph beautifully from July through the September harvest.
