Eden Prairie Wedding Venues: What They Publish

Eden Prairie has four wedding venues I could confirm on their own websites: Green Acres Event Center, Bearpath Golf and Country Club, Olympic Hills Golf Club and Bent Creek Golf Club. Green Acres publishes the most usable detail by a wide margin; the three clubs publish almost nothing beyond an enquiry form.

That gap is the real story of this city, so this guide is organised around it. Below is exactly what each venue puts in writing, what it leaves to a phone call, and the questions worth asking first. Everything was checked in September 2026 and every claim links to the page it came from.

Which Eden Prairie venue publishes the most detail?

Green Acres Event Center at 14150 Pioneer Trail is a restored 1942 barn, and it publishes real numbers. The Great Room Loft on the upper level is 3,100 square feet and is described as suiting ceremonies, receptions, formal dining, bands and DJs. The lower-level mingling space is another 3,100 square feet with lounge furniture and bar access for cocktail hour. Outside, the property connects to Staring Lake Park with trees, trails and a fireplace.

Two published details change your planning. On-site parking holds up to 60 vehicles, and events with 120 or more guests require valet or shuttle service — so for a typical 150-person wedding, transport is a line item, not an optional extra. The barn also has central heating and air conditioning plus high-velocity exhaust fans, which makes it a genuine year-round option rather than a May-to-October one. The weddings page names four catering partners: The Deco Catering, Green Mill Catering, Sterling Catering and Kafe 421.

The three golf clubs, and what they do not say

Bearpath Golf and Country Club at 18100 Bearpath Trail describes itself on its own weddings page as overlooking gardens and a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, and offers full-service wedding planning with a downloadable catering packet. It does not publish room capacities, rates, minimums or whether non-members may book.

Olympic Hills Golf Club at 10625 Mount Curve Road publishes the most vivid description of the three: an outdoor ceremony site with a tiered amphitheatre setting and a new pergola overlooking a pond and waterfall garden, and a banquet room lined with windows, with dark hardwood floors, a wrap-around deck and an outdoor fire pit. Again, no capacity and no pricing.

Bent Creek Golf Club at 14490 Valley View Road publishes a banquets and catering page with an event enquiry form, custom menus and staff who handle the planning. It publishes no spaces, capacities, rates or membership policy.

The honest conclusion is that in Eden Prairie you cannot build a shortlist from websites alone. Send all three the same four questions — seated capacity with a dance floor, room fee, food and beverage minimum, and whether a member must sponsor the booking — and compare the replies. A club that answers all four in writing is telling you something useful about how the rest of the planning will go.

Check the city before you check the venue

There are two Bent Creeks, and the mix-up is easy to make. The club in Eden Prairie is at 14490 Valley View Road and uses the domain bentcreekgolfclub.com. Bent Creek Country Club, which publishes capacity for up to 180 guests, is at 620 Bent Creek Drive in Lititz, Pennsylvania. If you search the name and land on the wrong site, you will walk into a tour with numbers that belong to another state.

The same discipline applies across the south-west metro. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is in Chaska, not Eden Prairie. Hyland Hills Chalet is in Bloomington, which I covered in the Bloomington wedding venue guide. Before booking a tour, open the venue's own contact page and read the street address. The city decides your guest hotels, your shuttle distance and which park rules apply.

What about Eden Prairie's own park facilities?

Eden Prairie rents park pavilions, the Riley-Jacques Barn and community centre rooms, and its parks department publishes a fee schedule for them. I am not quoting any of those figures here, because every page on the city's website returned an HTTP 403 error to me — repeatedly, from two different domains — so I could not read the current rates and will not guess at them.

That is worth saying plainly rather than filling the gap with numbers from a directory. If a city facility is on your list, call the parks department directly and ask for the current rate sheet, the resident and non-resident rates, the alcohol policy, the end time and the deposit. Outdoor ceremonies and the rain plan

Eden Prairie's appeal is outdoor: Olympic Hills' pergola and waterfall garden, Bearpath's gardens, Green Acres' trees and its connection to Staring Lake Park. All three are genuinely good ceremony settings and all three need a plan B that you like.

Green Acres is the strongest position of the four because its indoor space is climate-controlled year-round and large enough to take the ceremony inside without cramming. At the clubs, ask three specific questions: where the ceremony moves, how many minutes the flip takes, and who makes the call and by when. Get the cut-off time in the contract. One more practical note for portraits: golf clubs are working courses. Ask which holes you may walk, when, and whether a cart and staff escort are included. On a Saturday in July the answer is often narrower than couples expect.

How do we get a marriage licence in Hennepin County?

Eden Prairie is in Hennepin County. The county marriage licence page lists the fee as $125, or $50 if you have completed 12 hours of premarital education, and says the licence is valid for six months. Hennepin offers three ways to apply, including entering your details online before your appointment and a remote option by mail, and asks for identification such as a driver's licence, state ID or birth certificate.

The reduced fee is statutory. Minnesota Statutes section 517.08 sets the licence fee at $125 and the reduced fee at $50 for couples completing at least 12 hours of premarital education that includes a premarital inventory and teaching of communication and conflict-management skills. If you want the legal part done separately, Hennepin performs civil ceremonies at the counter for a non-refundable $45, with two witnesses aged 16 or older, per its marriage ceremony page.

Is Green Acres a year-round venue?

Yes, by its own description. The restored barn publishes central heating, central air conditioning, large circulating fans and high-velocity exhaust fans, which is unusual for a Minnesota barn venue and is what makes a January or July date realistic rather than aspirational. Confirm heating capacity for your specific guest count and date when you tour.

Why are no Eden Prairie city park rental rates listed here?

Because the city's website blocked every automated request I made, returning an HTTP 403 error on both edenprairiemn.gov and edenprairie.org. Rather than repeat rates from a third-party directory that may be out of date, I left them out.
