Maple Grove Wedding Venues and Park Rentals

Maple Grove publishes more wedding pricing than almost any city in the metro. There is an actual city wedding package at Central Park, a 250-seat banquet room at the community centre with rates by day of week, and a small building at Eagle Lake for tiny ceremonies. Rush Creek Golf Club and Elm Creek Chalet cover the rest.

Every venue below was checked on its own site in September 2026, and every rate links to the page it came from. Where a venue does not publish a capacity or a price, I have said so rather than borrowing a number from a wedding directory, because those numbers are wrong often enough to matter.

Is there a city wedding package in Maple Grove?

Yes, and it is the most interesting thing on this list. Maple Grove's Central Park rental page sells a wedding package combining an all-day Phenow Pavilion rental from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with two hours at the Garden and Labyrinth, for $1,200 for residents and $1,800 for non-residents, plus a $400 damage deposit. The package runs April to mid-November and includes a free one-hour rehearsal subject to availability.

Booked separately, the same city page prices Phenow Pavilion at $115 an hour for residents and $165 for non-residents, with a maximum of 120 guests; the Garden and Labyrinth at $90 and $140 an hour, holding roughly 250 audience-style; and the 2.5-acre Great Lawn at $100 and $150 an hour for the full space. Alcohol carries an additional $250 fee, and canned beer, wine and champagne are permitted. Decorations may not use tape, tacks or adhesives — worth passing to your florist.

Plan the ceremony in the Garden and Labyrinth and the reception in the pavilion and you have a wedding with one address, one parking lot and no shuttle. For a photographer, that is the single biggest timeline saver available.

The community centre banquet room

The Maple Grove Community Center banquet room seats up to 250 formally, with a built-in wooden dance floor and stage, in-house sound and A/V, and tables and chairs included. The city publishes 2027 rates of $535 for resident weekdays and $590 for non-residents, rising to $1,038 and $1,145 on a Saturday.

Read the vendor rules before you fall for the price. A full-room rental requires an approved licensed caterer; a half-room rental lets you bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks, excluding red beverages. If you are serving alcohol you must use the city's exclusive licensed liquor provider, no outside alcohol is allowed, and a security guard is charged at $62 an hour with a five-hour minimum. A non-refundable deposit of half the rental fee is due at booking, plus a $400 refundable damage deposit — all from the same city page.

Elm Creek Chalet, and the venue everyone puts in the wrong city

Elm Creek Chalet at 12400 James Deane Parkway is genuinely in Maple Grove, inside Elm Creek Park Reserve. Three Rivers rents it April to October: $1,350 Monday to Thursday and $2,300 Friday to Sunday and holidays for a full day from 10 a.m. to midnight, or $1,100 for a partial day of eight hours or fewer on weekdays, plus a $600 facility deposit and a $300 security fee for events running past 8 p.m. Full-service catering is required, desserts may be catered separately, and ceremony chairs rent at $3.50 each including tax. Both indoor and outdoor ceremony settings are offered.

Eastman Nature Center is the trap. It is the other Elm Creek Park Reserve building, and Three Rivers publishes its city as Dayton, Minnesota, not Maple Grove — even though it shares a park reserve with the chalet. It does publish that rooms can be rented for small weddings and receptions, with indoor reservations made at least seven days and no more than 120 days ahead. If a Dayton address works for your guests, it is a fine option; just do not tell people it is in Maple Grove.

Rush Creek Golf Club

Rush Creek Golf Club at 7801 County Road 101 is the largest private-sector option in the city. Its own weddings page describes the MacMillan Ballroom as having vaulted ceilings, two stone fireplaces and panoramic windows over the golf course, plus a Juliet balcony and an outdoor terrace, and a Skye Room used for weddings. Catering and bar are in-house, and the club lists dance floor, linens, tables, service staff, a dressing room and accessible facilities.

What Rush Creek does not publish is a capacity for either room or any pricing, so ask for both in writing at your first meeting. Widely circulated capacity figures for the MacMillan Ballroom come from directories rather than from the club, and I am not going to repeat a number the venue itself has not confirmed.

Small park rentals worth knowing

Two smaller city options cover ceremonies under 50 people.

• The Eagle Lake Community Building at Thoresen Park holds 47, is climate-controlled year-round with a kitchen and a deck, and costs $125 for residents and $200 for non-residents in 2026, rising to $200 and $350 in 2027, with a $200 refundable damage deposit. It rents Friday to Sunday only, one prime weekend day per month, and no alcohol is permitted.
• Maple Grove's rentals directory also lists picnic pavilions at the Arboretum, Bridges and Weaver Lake, plus the Town Green. At the time of writing the Lions pavilion is unavailable because of the community centre renovation, so confirm availability before you design around it.

The city's outdoor Central Park rules require 14 days' notice, allow booking up to a year ahead, and give refunds only for cancellations 30 or more days out — with no weather refunds, per the Central Park page. That last clause is the reason to have a rain plan you actually like rather than one you tolerate; ours is set out in the Minnesota rain plan guide.

How do we get a marriage licence in Hennepin County?

Maple Grove is in Hennepin County, so the licence comes from Hennepin rather than from Wright or Anoka, even though the city sits close to both lines. The county marriage licence page puts the fee at $125, or $50 if you have completed 12 hours of premarital education, and says the licence stays valid for six months. Hennepin offers three ways to apply, including submitting your information online before your appointment and a remote option by mail, and asks for identification such as a driver’s licence, state ID or birth certificate.

The reduced fee is set in law, not by the county. Minnesota Statutes section 517.08 fixes the licence fee at $125 and the reduced fee at $50 for couples who complete at least 12 hours of premarital education covering a premarital inventory plus communication and conflict-management skills. Book the education early if you want the saving; 12 hours is not a single evening.

What a photographer checks in Maple Grove

Three things decide how the pictures go here, and none of them is the room.

• Permits. Elm Creek Park Reserve is Three Rivers land, and every paid photographer needs a pass — $28 an hour or $275 a year, bought at least two weeks ahead — with everyone staying on designated trails and off the paved bike trail.
• West-facing glass. Rush Creek's ballroom and the community centre both take strong late light. Decide whether you want it behind the couple or on them, then set the ceremony time accordingly.
• End times. City rentals here are sold in hour blocks with hard stops, so the last dance is a contractual fact, not a mood.

Rush Creek does not publish one on its own weddings page, so I am not quoting the figures that circulate on directory sites. Ask the catering team for the seated capacity with a dance floor and a head table, which is always lower than the theoretical maximum, and get it in the proposal rather than over the phone.

Which Maple Grove venue suits about 40 guests?

The Eagle Lake Community Building at Thoresen Park holds 47, is climate-controlled year-round and is the cheapest indoor option in the city, though it books Friday to Sunday only and allows no alcohol.
